Have been using this style of laundry basket for about 20 years now. Love the curve for the one side hip carry that doesn’t bend the basket out of shape and make it break like the oval/rectangle predecessors.

Q: I've been reading a lot of negative reviews on this laundry basket. Have they fixed this problem yet with the breaking handles? I would appreciate an answer ASAP as my laundry basket I have right now is broken so I have to get a new one.

A: This design seems almost identical to the Rubbermaid HipHugger on which the handles can break. I used a section of tree branch cut a bit longer than the old handle and screwed it in place with round head wood screws. It lasted a dozen years. The branch generally holds up better than the plastic handles, but the plastic did eventually start breaking beyond where the branch ended. Doesn't say what the plastic resin is, but the Rubbermaid model is quite rigid.

Q: It appears that this item is a "Type A" branded laundry basket, but many reviewers reference a Rubbermaid Laundry basket. the picture does not match the picture of a Hip Hugger basket on Rubbermaid's own site. Is this a Rubbermaid product or not?
