High price for simple function

Useful function, if not necessary. The price is on the high side for such a simple device. Fortunately it was sold at a reduced (although still somewhat high) price after Christmas. This is the second one I buy : the first one lasted for about five years, only used during Holidays Season every year. I don't know if my first unit was flawed or the design is prone to failure.

This item allowed me to turn my Christmas tree lights on without having to shimmy under the tree to the outlet at the back. Previously I had them on a timer but some days I didn't want to wait until dark to have the lights on. This device allowed me to turn them on and off whenever I wished.

A: Yes you can use it for indoor Christmas lights whether on the tree or on the windows inside. The plug has only one outlet though so yes you would need more than more unless the window lights were plugged into each other.

Q: How many amps is this remote rated for? Was wondering if it could be used for turning my dust collector on and off remotely.

A: The other side of the package shows that it can be used year round to control lamps etc. I am not sure on the amps though.

Q: Is this item CSA and UL rated? Where is it made? How many lights can I operate using this/

A: I have three of them, connected to various decorations. I don’t have the original packaging so can’t comment on the ratings. My Christmas tree has 800 lights, and works well with the remote. I wouldn’t want to plug an extension cord into the remote and operate more than the tree on one device, which is why I have three. Hope this helps! Merry Christmas!

A: Plug the white receiver into the wall, then plug your Christmas lights into it. Then use the tree shaped remote to turn the lights on and off.
