Snapshot Rat trap.

I've caught 20 rats (outside) in the past year. They eat my cherry tomatoes, kale, and peas. I haven't had any rats in my house. I remove the little cup underneath and add peanut butter.

GARBAGE!

Garbage. They often don't kill immediately- the poor animal flips around, even when caught by the neck. Just had to drown one. Just brutal. Of the ten or more traps I had on hand, from last year, all but one was broken- wouldn't 'set'. I just bought plastic victor traps, much much more powerful spring- appears better made all around. The Tom cat traps aren't effective, nor humane. Nor economical. I guess their business model is us buying them over and over and over because they break. I will never buy them again. Garbage

Rat Trap

I bought this rat trap to supplement the other two I have. One of these traps has a very strong spring and hence a small rat doesn't seem to trip the trap. Hope this purchased trap doesn't have a similar issue. The reason for the 2 rating was for the dangerous process of filling the bait area. I had to open the trap to get at the bait area cup... so that meant I had to engage the spring. My other traps allowed me to put bait in the bait cup, then cock the spring. With this new trap I risked tripping the trap on my fingers.

We are concerned to hear about your experience with Tomcat Rat Snap Trap.

To use: Remove bait cup from bottom of trap by twisting counter clockwise. Place peanut butter (or other bait) into cup and re-insert into trap. Then Carefully set trap by compressing the top portion (containing ridges) to the bottom until it clicks into position. This can be done by hand or foot.
