Ridiculously Flimsy

Since purchasing this rack in April 2025, I have had to replace a tray 4 separate times (for 3 separate issues), and additionally got the wobble knob stuck (thule support encouraged me to replace the entire rack chassis instead of helping me try to fix it, but I was able to fix it after consulting with the local hardware store). If I could return this rack for a refund, I would in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I cannot, so I am stuck repeatedly filing warranty claims until I bite the bullet and buy a new rack.

Excellent Rack

Bought the Thule Helium Platform XT for use with my Kia EV6 GTSeries. I really like the rack, and the ease with which bikes can be loaded/unloaded. Haven't had any problems with Helium Platform once I was able to install it properly. A hitch extension needed to used with a standard Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver so that the rack did not rub up against the rear bumper (this may not be a problem with EV6 trim lines other than the GT series).

Do not buy!!

Do not buy!! Especially not for this ridiculous price. This rack is cheap and will not last. The plastic (!!) arm that the ratchet mechanism attaches to broke within two months of purchase. They were good about the warranty, but I was lucky that it didn’t happen while I was driving. In the year since then, the mechanism has gotten jammed with dust and debris and no longer reliably cinches down on my bikes. I have attempted to take it apart to clean it several times but it inevitably becomes jammed again. It has also collapsed into the lowered position while driving on the highway. I do not trust it to carry my bikes.

No, I do not recommend this product.
