A: i doesn't matter what it looks like, it matters how old it is, best thing to do is go to a PROPANE gas station and have them fill it, if it is expired, they will tell you!

A: when you buy the larger propane tanks (like the 20 lb) they come empty, you have to pay extra to have them filled, i think they should come with a coupon for a free fill!

Q: I purchased one of these tanks to replace a Manchester one that had expired. The valve only opens a couple of turns compared to my old tank and the flow is low. I have a 4 burner bbq and I am having trouble keeping the burners lit. Suggestions?

1 Answer

A: On the current valves, the valve handle should only turn a couple of turns to be fully open. The gas flow can be from a myriad of things. Its possible that the coupling that is connecting to the propane valve, is not engaging the safety check valve on the inside of the valve all the way, which is causing the flow restriction. Try disconnecting it and reconnecting it firming (but only hand tighten).

A: The tanks are empty, but your local Canadian Tire store may offer the option to fill them, or a cylinder exchange program. I would suggest contacting your local Canadian Tire location.
