The Summer Infant Extra-Wide Gate in grey colour is designed for extra-wide openings from 28.5-52" wide and stands 30" tall. Its cool grey slate metal frame suits any décor. Notably, it features a convenient auto-close function that gently shuts the gate door behind you and a hold-open mechanism for when you need the door ajar. The package includes a 4", 6.75", and 10" extension frames for versatile installation. The gate also offers two installation options: stairway installation (kit included) or a no-drill doorway mount.

The gate initially looks like the gate doesn’t close properly when it is taken out of the box. Once it is installed properly then the swing door catches as it should.

Worked well to keep our dog on our patio. However, unless it is lined up perfectly (and tight in spot) it can be difficult to open and close. But serves its purpose for us.

Q: What is the spacing between the bars ?

A: The spacing on ours is 2 - 1/8 (2.12") inches.

Q: Is the gate/latch supposed to never close?? How are we supposed to actually install this so the gate/latch works as intended?

A: The bottom rail has an arch to it. You straighten this arch out using the two upper adjusters and the gate latch drops into place. The arch supplies tension to the upper adjusters helping them stay in place.

Q: It says 28 to 52 and in the bottom says includes extension 4" - 6". Can it go more then 52 or it's included I the 28 to 52?
