Always satisfied with Sterilite

I have purchased many Sterilite storage boxes before and I'm always satisfied. The price is reasonable. I don't want to spend a ton on a plastic bin. I had a friend who lost nearly everything in a house fire. I learned it's not the fire that destroys most, it's the damage caused by smoke. Anything that was stored in a plastic bin, rather than carboard box, survived.

bought 10 of them - three of the rims cracked as we were putting them in the vehicle in the parking lot - returned them and bought different ones - those at least made it out of the parking lot in one piece

Returned it. Did not realize it was manufactured in US until after picking up online order. Other retailer has products from this company made in Canada so bought them there.

Great storage, need lids

I have bought many of these the last couple of years to store items and for moving. They are great! My problem is that I have about 6, 66qt latch lid storage containers and the lids have broken. Is there a possibility of purchasing 6 lids from you directly? I can seem to find them anywhere else. Thanks

Q: Does this container have a gasket to seal out moisture and pests (eg, for use in the basement?)

A: If by gasket you mean a seal around the edge, No, there is none. I use mine in the basement, with no pests, and have no problems. However, I've also used the Rubbermaid totes in the shed and basement with no problems and is far more air tight.

Q: Is the inside bottom of the bin smooth & completely even/flat? Or does it have grooves around perimeter like most storage bins so that base is indented out on the exterior? My son is building a diorama & needs a bin with a bottom as flat as possible. Thx!

Q: I would like to use this storage bin as a cage for a small animal (will drill holes of course, for air) but it needs to be completely clear so my child can view her pet. is it totally clear, similar to glass, or does it have a slightly "cloudy" look? thx!

A: Hello golemhead, the Sterilite 62 L ClearView Storage Box is made of polypropylene, and is designed for general household storage. Most household storage purposes do not require suggested weight limitations. Our products have not been specifically tested for various weight potential, and we suggest consumers not overload them. This could cause distortion or eventual damage.

A: Thank you for your question. Yes, the Sterilite ClearView Totes can stack ontop of one another. However, we suggest that consumers use good judgement and not overload them or stack them more than three high. This could cause distortion.

A: Thanks for your question. Our products are made of food grade safe polypropylene or polyethylene plastic. No Latex, BPAs (bisphenol A), PVCs, Teflon, or other stain resistant chemicals are used in our manufacturing process. Sterilite does not use any harmful materials in the production of our products.
