I bought several of these bins to reorganize my storage room this year and really like them.
- the straighter sides and more rectangular lid is better over other bins, which have slightly more rounded lid sides, which waste space on shelves. This more narrow shape allows me fit 2 bins on 36" wide shelving, which I was not able to do with my previous bins. For now I am using an old bin and a new bin side-by-side, but plan to replace all bins to this style.
- They are a bit smaller than my older bins, which I find easier to carry around the house as needed, particularly for Christmas decorations.
- I prefer the clear plastic over opaque colored bins for most items as it allows me to easily see the contents.
- And I prefer the latched lids. Other styles can sometimes be difficult to get the lids off of and the latches make that easy, although an overstuffed bin might mean the long sides of the lid are not as tightly closed.

Storage for LP Records

Bought for archival storage of LP records. Will fit about 120 LPs per bin. Inside bottom has a groove running around perimeter but otherwise is flat and causes no issues. Fairly weighty when full so not sure how many will stack up without deforming lower bin(s), but two stacked seems to be okay.
Yes, I recommend this product.

My absolute favorite bins of all time!
These bins are the best - sturdy, light, latches to keep the dust out nicely, stackable, pretty looking, durable - what more could you ask for?
The 62L size is perfect for 2 side by side stacks of pants or shirts.
I have been using these bins for all of my clothes after cleaning everything when my apartment had mold, and these bins are amazing. Latches withstand multiple swivels open and closed with weekly access to my clothes inside.

Q: Does this container have a gasket to seal out moisture and pests (eg, for use in the basement?)

A: If by gasket you mean a seal around the edge, No, there is none. I use mine in the basement, with no pests, and have no problems. However, I've also used the Rubbermaid totes in the shed and basement with no problems and is far more air tight.

Q: Is the inside bottom of the bin smooth & completely even/flat? Or does it have grooves around perimeter like most storage bins so that base is indented out on the exterior? My son is building a diorama & needs a bin with a bottom as flat as possible. Thx!

Q: I would like to use this storage bin as a cage for a small animal (will drill holes of course, for air) but it needs to be completely clear so my child can view her pet. is it totally clear, similar to glass, or does it have a slightly "cloudy" look? thx!

Most household storage purposes do not require suggested weight limitations. Our products have not been specifically tested for various weight potential, and we suggest consumers not overload them. This could cause distortion or eventual damage.

A: Thanks for your question. Our products are made of food grade safe polypropylene or polyethylene plastic. No Latex, BPAs (bisphenol A), PVCs, Teflon, or other stain resistant chemicals are used in our manufacturing process. Sterilite does not use any harmful materials in the production of our products.
