Solo Stove Ring Stand missing

The Solo stove ring stand was not in the box though was in the pictures both on the box and internal box instructions. Canadian Tire customer service advised because we had opened the box, we could not return the Solo unless we accepted an in store credit. Sad in that if Canadian Tire had offered us the value of the ring we could simply purchase the missing part online and safe each of the the problem of a large heavy return for a credit.

Overpriced stove that’s not smokeless

The stove is fine, but I would not recommend it as I don’t believe it’s worth anywhere near what they’re charging for it. It is definitely not smokeless - yes, with dry hardwood kept well below the rim. I am also disappointed with how much the stove has discoloured and am not at all confident it’s actually made of stainless steel. After only one use, the top portion turned gold and the inside turned blue and purple. It is not convenient, as am having to move it to my shed every time it rains because I can’t trust that it won’t rust, especially since it doesn’t come with a lid to keep the water out. I did test to see if it would retain water and, unfortunately, it does. So if you leave it out in the rain, you’ll have to make sure you dump it… or pay a whopping $100+ for a lid. Also, the removable ash pan makes a mess - it sounds like a good feature, but it doesn’t function as it should. You’ll have to dig through the ash to find the portion of the grate you grip to pull it out… and a lot of it will dump inside the stove because it’s not big enough to contain the ash from one fire. I wish I had saved my money and bought the knock-off for a fraction of the cost.

Q: What is the actual measurement? There are 2 sets of measurements provided. Is it 22” diameter x 17” height?

Q: What size logs can you put in

1 Answer
  • A: They show pictures of the suggest logs and kindling wood in the instructions, which you can see on the Solo Stove website, It looks like wood about 16" long or less, about 3 or 4" in diameter or less. The top of the wood pile should be about 1/2 the height of the pit inside, no higher. The ingenious design makes it very easy to light and keep burning.

1 Answer
  • A: If you look on the Solo Stove website there is a "Fire Pit Pellet Adapter" for about 50 bucks. It looks like you would definitely need this to use wood pellets. Look on the website and you will see more info on the FAQs on the webpage for this accessory.

Q: HI ONLY THIG I AM CONCERN IF I KEEP THE STOVE BONFIRE ON THE GRASS THE HEAT WILL DAMAGE THE GRASS ??

1 Answer
  • A: from Solostove website... "Stands should be used with the fire pit at all times when burning on green grass." can also use a patio stone or well placed bricks etc... the stand does not increase airflow simply raises the unit off the ground. more info "Green grass can burn at 518° F. Depending on the hardness of the wood and the duration of the burn, Solo Stove Fire Pits could potentially scorch your grass"
