I’ve had this machine for several years and while it’s my first sewing machine, I think it’s great for beginners and hobbyists alike. It’s very easy to use and heavy duty enough to make anything.

SEW MACHINE DID NOT WORK. Bobbin would not work. Machine would not sew. The Case was skewed. Unhappy with the product.
I have sent it back.

Didn’t even work straight out of the box

The bobbin mechanism was dysfunctional out of the box. Had to take it to a repair shop to even sew my first seam. Never quite got it to work well after that. Terrible on delicate fabric. Save yourself the time and buy a baby lock machine instead

Non performance of 6380HD machine

I have more problems with this machine than I've ever had with any other. The bobbin thread ties up more times than not. For a HD machine, it struggles.
I tried to use polyester bonded thread for it's UV ratings on waterproof fabric, this machine could not handle it.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Extremely disappointed

I got this machine brand new and have never been able to get it to work right. I have taken it to the repair shop and even after having them fix it twice it still does not work. There is something off with the tension that renders it useless. Waste of money plus having to make expensive repairs that lead to nothing. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

A: The Singer HD6380 can sew some thicker items with the proper machine settings and needle. Please be aware that if you sew on multiple layers that are too thick and it raises the presser foot too high (higher than the normal presser foot up position), the top tension will be disengaged and the machine will not make a proper stitch (may jam machine). It's likely that the 1" foam will even be too thick to fit under this presser foot. Something this thick may possible require a commerical or industrial machine
