Ok vacuum

Great vacuum if you have tile or vinyl flooring. If you have carpet, it does a good job, but will eat up the battery. Plus you have to clean it more often. It's definitely not great if you have animals that shed.

Hi there, \nThank you for your honest review! We're glad to hear the vacuum works well on tile and vinyl flooring. We understand that carpeted areas and pet hair can place extra demands on battery life and maintenance. Your feedback is incredibly helpful as we continue to improve our products to better meet the needs of pet owners and homes with mixed flooring. \n\nWarm regards,\nShark Clean US

Good for the price

I've been using the Shark ION Robot R72 for a few months now, and it's been a great addition to my cleaning routine. As someone with a busy schedule, this robot vacuum has been a real time-saver. It does a good job navigating around my furniture and getting into tight spaces, which is impressive. The suction power is strong enough to pick up most debris, including pet hair, which is a big plus for me as a cat owner. I appreciate the convenience of scheduling cleanings and the overall ease of use. The dustbin is also easy to empty, and the filters are straightforward to clean. However, it's not perfect. Occasionally, it gets stuck on thicker rugs or tangled in cords, and I need to rescue it. Additionally, while it does a decent job on hard floors and low-pile carpets, it struggles a bit with high-pile rugs. Overall, the Shark ION Robot R72 is a solid performer for everyday cleaning, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, reliable robot vacuum. It definitely makes keeping the house clean much easier.

Shark Bumps into Everything!

This vacuum does not compare with my older iLife robotic vac. It bumps into everything with a force enough to move a small plant stand. It does not detect the charging base and moves it around as it bumps into it. ILife has a sensor that stops it from hitting objects in it's way. The Shark does clean efficiently however when it hits an object in it's path it more or less repeatedly makes the same turns to try and get around it until it finally turns around and can make it's way from the object. Battery does last over two hours on most days. Cleans according to schedule programmed by the user but as it is not connected to wifi it does not know when daylight savings time is in effect and keeps to the old schedule. Over all I prefer the iLife vacuum which vacuums as well as wet cleans the floor with less noise and no touch bump system.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Very disappointed in Bruce

We got our shark (Bruce) for Christmas and can rarely get it to run for more than 5 minutes. We have repeatedly tried To find any spots something could be stuck or obstructing. This little vacuum was way too expensive to be this troublesome. Our 8 year old roomba May run disorganized but at least it still works.

No, I do not recommend this product.

  • A: Salut, merci d'avoir contacté Shark.

Q: I bought this vacuum and it has a "Max" button instead of a "Spot" button and the manual doesn't make any mention of it. What's going on why does my manual keep talking about the spot button and what does the max button do?

1 Answer
  • A: We are sorry to hear that the information in the manual for your unit is not completely matching. There are 2 units in this series that have just a slight difference which is one has a spot button and the other has a max button. It sounds like there may have been a mix up with the manual. To see if this is the case we would recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team at 1-877-581-7375 Mon.-Fri. 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. ET, Sat. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. ET.

Q: Does this sense liquids or mush on the floor? Specifically, if one of the cats throws up or has a hairball when we aren't home and the vacuum is scheduled to go, will it avoid those areas or run right through them?

1 Answer
  • A: We are sorry to inform you that the Shark ION™ Robot 720 Robotic Vacuum will not detect liquids or mush on the floor. If it is in the path of the robot, the robot will run over it. We understand that this can be difficult sometimes, however, we recommend prepping your floor by removing all obstacles, such as loose power cords, clothes, toys, low-hanging drapes, and liquids and other messes. You can use the the included BotBoundary Strips to block off areas that you don't want the robot to enter.

Q: Does the Shark Ion Robot 720 has mapping capabilities?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, We would like to inform you that the Shark ION™ Robot 720 Robotic Vacuum does not have mapping capabilities. This robot is designed with Auto Sense™ Navigation so it can navigate around obstructions as it cleans your floors. By using an array of sensors, the Shark ION™ Robot will steer itself around your home, using walls and objects as its guide and gently bumping them. This method allows the robot to travel in and out of rooms and around obstacles. With regular daily cleanings, the robot's cleaning path will vary as needed to ensure the entire floor is cleaned. We hope this information helps. The Customer Support Team
