Immediate disappointment in fast-declining battery life and poor suction

The suction is really not great, but I figured it would still work for my pet, child and carpet-free 1 bedroom condo. I'm not messy. I like the emptying feature but it can leaves dust/hair in the vacuum receptacle and under/around the receptacle in the stand somehow. I do like the stand. Here's where I get mad. I bought this vacuum 3 months ago but have been out of town most of the time since, so I haven't even used it 10 times yet. Already the battery life has gone from lasting through me vacuuming my entire suite-including using the extra suction power while on tile-to not even lasting 5 minutes at regular power. I followed all instructions and there's absolutely NO reason for the sharp decline of this battery! I tried to avoid buying the cheapest model by this or any other company and to invest in something better but I feel like I got a cheap vacuum anyway. Especially upsetting is the fact that there are no written reviews here that are even remotely negative, which gave me undeserved confidence in the product. AND my family swear by their cordless Sharks that they spent less for and that have lasted them for years without a single issue. Meanwhile, for my investment and all my endless hours and hours of hunting and reading through reviews and weighing the pros and cons of model after model, apparently I might as well have bought any old piece of garbage. When did everyone stop making good vacuums?

No, I do not recommend this product.
