Q: Can I apply Grub B Gone Max on a newly seeded lawn? New grass has just starting to grow.

  • A: grub b gone should be applied and rain soon after as it goes into the ground to stop the grubs. There should be no issue putting on freshly seeded lawn as the granules go into the ground. Grub B Gone needs to be applied in early spring and then late summer.

Q: Hi there. Any idea regarding the safety of using this when you are on a well for water? Want to make sure we will not cause harm to our water system by using this.

  • A: As long as the well is not subject to surface water run off, there should really be no concern about using Scotts Grub B Gon MAX on the lawn.

Q: Is GRUB B GONE effective in controlling sod webworm? I live in Saskatchewan and these pests are a problem!

  • A: Unfortunately, it did not kill off or even reduce the number of grubs in my lawn. There’s a money back guarantee that I haven’t received from Scott’s as well. So it’s not worth it.

Q: Can this be used in garden rows and still have flowers grow? My dahlia rows are full of grubs so I am worried the plants won't survive either the grubs nor the grub killer

  • A: Scotts Grub B Gon Grub Killer is not registered for use ornamental gardens. It can be applied up to the edge of the garden or ornamental plants in the lawn, but should not be applied in the garden.
