The answer you are looking for: Yes, it transforms your existing countertops. The second answer: It is unlikely that you will trick anyone into thinking you've got new countertops. It is a 2-3 day DIY project, quicker and easier with 2 people, but certainly doable by 1 person. The hardest part is sanding. Be prepared to sand, sand, and sand more. Then sand some more. And again. Apply the sticky tar, spray the decorative chips, wait to dry. Then sand, sand, sand. Sand till your arms get numb. Rest and sand more. The more you sand the smoother the finish. Apply finish. Be prepared to use plenty of dripsheets to protect your cabinets, walls, and floors. Before applying the compounds consider removing the sink altogether, else you are risking telltale signs of having applied a finish, especially around the front edge where the sink meets the countertop. If you cannot or do not want to remove the sink - remove masking tape immediately after applying each compound, do not allow them to dry to the tape or you will be peeling it off with the compounds. The results are very good. Countertops look nearly stone like. Total transformation achieved, especially in our case when applied dark product onto existing almond countertops. Still it was impossible to achieve that finish you'd get by replacing your countertops, here and there showing an unevenly dried finish, albeit visible only depending on light direction.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Can you use part of the package, then seal it and do another bathroom later?

    1 Answer
    • A: Yes, the product can be divided, and stored after use. Countertop Transformations has a three year shelf life. The component that would be tricky to divide is the final topcoat, which is a two-part epoxy. The A and B component would need to be measured out precisely using the correct ratio to ensure the topcoat dries well.

Q: Does this product also works with plain Plywood? or does it needs to have something else? thank you.

    1 Answer
    • A: The wood would have to be sealed first because the bond coat needs to sit high up on the substrate. If the wood is not sealed, the bond coat will be absorbed by the substrate, and the finish will not look polished. Thus, it is not recommended to use this product on plain plywood.

Q: does this work over arborite counters also?

    1 Answer
    • A: Yes it can, The Arborite should be sanded thoroughly with the Diamond Embedded Sanding Tool and tested for a good Adhesive Base Coat adhesion before coating the entire surface area.
