Rust coat black spray paint

I needed to paint some screws to match black hardware I used for my open storage kitchen shelving unit. Odour wasn't too strong and paint dried fairly quickly.

Been using this for years only rust check I’ll buy is in the black can

Been using this rust check for the past several years on my truck chassis and rocker panels/under doors once the dirt sticks it will turn black and won’t come off without some effort in scrubbing which is what I wanted even pressure washer doesn’t take it off excellent product In my opinion in the past I decided to clean up the truck in the spring and remove some of the black to do so I would have to use spray 9 and a soft waxing pad to scrub the area to remove the rust check it holds up really well in the winter with the messy roads

Q: Is this suitable to repair rust on car fender? Can you paint over it?

A: No I believe its meant to spray on to rust to slow down the rusting. It stays moist so painting over it won't work. I used it on the backside of the bumper on my truck and it hasn't got any worse.

Q: What colour is it when applied? Clear? Translucent colour? Black?

A: It comes out clear with a slight beige/gold tinge. It's equivalent to the crown undercoating spray. Looks the same, smells the same, applies the same. I love this stuff! Save some bucks from crown by doing it yourself. 5 cans does my 99 cherokee suv. A normal car could do 4

Q: What is the difference between this product and the original red can (Rust Check Rust Inhibitor)?

A: Rust Coat 10026 is slightly thicker and provides a corrosion preventive coating, and also lubricates. Coat & Protect 10025 provides heavy duty lubrication and also corrosion protection Both have a similar appearance. Depends what you want more of... Rust Inhibitor 1054 is a low viscosity, liquid, rust preventative lubricant that offers excellent penetration into seams and crevices.

A: Rust Check Rust Coat is designed to protect iron-based surfaces and is not recommended for use on brass.

Q: Is this product suitable to protect a car body with exposed rust on the outside that I don't plan on painting? I want to prevent the rust from spreading.

A: I regret I can't recommend the product for your intended application. I use the product on the hard to access parts of my trailer hitch and inside the hitch tubing.
