Royal Purple® Synchromax® is recommended for manual transmissions that specify an automatic transmission fluid or other light-viscosity oil. It is also ideal for transfer cases and 2-cycle motorcycle gear boxes that specify light-viscosity lubricants. Synchromax is formulated with Royal Purple’s synthetic, proprietary Synerlecadditive technology, offering improved shift quality over a wide temperature range and reduced gear noise. 3 years agoA: According to the owners manual on the Mazda website, the correct viscosity grade is 75W-80. For this we recommend Royal Purple Synchormax. The oil capacity is between 2.5 and 3 quarts.

Q: Is this compatible with Subaru Impreza Manual Transmission? I don't see a rating in the description. OEM is GL-5 75w90.

Q: Can this be used in 2010 Hyundai Accent Manual transmission base model? OEM spec is 75W85 GL-4?
7 years agoA: Synchromax will work but it is a little lighter in viscosity than a 75W85. Often, this will decrease shift effort and increase shift speed, so a lighter viscosity in a competition application is sometimes recommended. The downside to the shift improvements of a lighter fluid are that lighter viscosity fluids can transmit noise a little more and may make the shift feel more “mechanical” (feel the mechanism working a little more).
