Pet Safety Our Japanese Beetle Traps do not use any killing agents or poisons. Beetles are lured to the trap, then caught in the attached bag where they eventually expire on their own. Hang traps away from animals to prevent them from getting into the trap. What It Catches This trap catches the Japanese beetle, a destructive garden pest that infests and destroys over 300 varieties of ornamental plants. Also catches the Oriental beetle, which feeds on roots of turfgrass, nursery stock, greenhouse ornamental crops and fruit. Where To Hang It The trap should be placed at least 30 feet from ornamental plants, to lure beetles away from the area where they are creating damage. Hang the trap by its twist-tie hanger from a post or stake, four feet above the ground and away from the desired foliage. During heavy rain or wind, the trap should be removed to a protected location.

Q: Can you use this inside the house too? I have so many of these beetles looking for a place for the winter and I'm getting sick of them!
3 years agoA: This trap is only used outdoors in the summer to trap Japanese Beetles, and it uses a very specific pheromone for that pest. This trap will not work on Asian Lady Beetles that go inside homes to overwinter, because they are a different species than Japanese Beetles.
