Worked very well for me

Pretty good

Worked well. Fit the tip of the rod very nicely. Not sure what the metal clip was for so I just glued the tip directly onto the rod and heat shrinked it.

Worked well - no glue required

Worked well; no adhesive/glue required. No instructions were included, but a quick search on the internet will show you what to do

yay, back out ice fishing and only lost an inch of broken rod tip.

worked as replacement tip after other broke. Works fine, no instructions. Wondered why the three pieces of plastic tubing are there. I thought they were heat shrink tube, but I could not make them shrink and why 3 with one replacement tip.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 4 of 4 Questions

Q: Why do you suggest glue? The locking pin inserted into the tip before you slide it onto the rod. It holds it snug so that once it's aligned the heat shrink tube deals the deal.

  • A: Mike there is a flat metal u shaped piece. The crooked end goes into the flat slot art the end of the repair tip. When you slide the tip, with the clip in it, over the broken rod it holds pretty snug. The resin released by the shrink tube locks it all together. You can see the clip in the product picture. Maybe zoom in.

  • A: 1. Check new guide to ensure that barrel end of guide tip it will fit end of rod blank 2. Melt end of cement stick for about 3-5 seconds and immediately apply to end of rod blank. 3. Heat barrel end of guide tip for 3-5 seconds and slide over cement on rod blank 4. Align new tip with rod guides immediately and hold in place up to 10 seconds to allow cement to set.

Q: Instructions please?

  • A: The 'cement stick' is sold separately, basically a piece of a hot glue stick you melt with a match/lighter. Works great, as long as you dont fish when its warm (then it remelts and your tip will spin or cast out with your line). I finally used crazy glue. Couldnt figure the kit out either, searched for videos and gave up, made up my own. I put the little metal thing inside the rod end , with the open end angled away from the eyes so it gave the tip a bit more support. Put the shrink wrap over the rod, glued the new tip over the rod/metal thing then slid the shrink back up over and melted it. So far so good, but surely not right lol it will do til the kid shuts it in the car door again though!
