ok pour un débutant

Moulinet de base et premier ourlet de la canne un peu trop petit, mais ok pour un débutant à la mouche étant donné le bas prix.

Broke on first use

The rod snapped in half after about a dozen casts on my first time using it. Literal garbage. Don’t waste your money on this. The reel is also made of cheap plastic.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great rod catches fish

This rod can handle 3lb+ pink salmon straight from the ocean no problem. Bought one last year and landed easily 50+ pink salmon in British Columbia , before I got sick of chasing them down river, and tried forcing a bigger one back which snapped the tip.

No line

Is what it is. Bought it online. Was obviously used and then returned. No backing and about 20 ft of line. Drag doesn't adjust and when you reel the 10ft of line you have left it sounds like drag haha. Not even going to try using it on the river, would be pointless. Won't bother buying more line for it. Returning it in the morning unfortunately.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Pouvons nous changer la poignée à gauche ?

  • A: First off, I apologize that my French is not fluent enough to answer. I will answer as I can and you can use google translate. The outfit is currently setup for a right handed caster with the reel knob facing the left. If you wish to change it around for a left handed caster so the reel knob is on the right, it is not difficult to do. First, remove the spool. On the spindle near the the base, you will see a "c" clip. Remove this clip and put it aside. Pull up on the main gear and remove it from the spindle. Turn it around and reinsert it with the opposite side of the gear facing down. Reinstall the "c" clip. Re attach the spool. That's it. Doesn't take more than a few minutes once you get the hang of it.

Q: Does this rod come spooled with floating or sinking line?

  • A: This outfit comes spooled with weight forward floating line in a 5 weight. ( WF5F). Mine had a tag on the pre spooled line. I have bought 2 of these outfits and I have never seen this or any other combo come pre spooled with sinking line. If you want that, you will need to purchase the sinking line that you would prefer separately.

Q: Does the rod come with fly line backing and leader?

1 Answer
  • A: Yes. It comes with fly line, backing and one leader. The fly line is aWF5F which means a weight forward line in a 5 weight floating line. ( matched to the rod) The line itself is aprox 20 meters and is weighted to allow you to learn easily. Although not as long as the standard 30m length when you by line separately, it has been more than ample for the rivers and streams I fish locally and I have never had any problems of running into or through the backing which is also spooled on the reel. The kit provides one leader which will get you going but you will either need to purchase extra or make your own as one leader won't last long.
