don't do it

I bought this auger on sale and I would not buy another one if they dropped the price farther. does not start well at all. I have had to replace the recoil 4 times. it's only drilled 50 holes and I am done with it. throwing it in the scrap bin. zero stars

Had this auger for 5 years recoil went first year and called manufacturer.. they sent me parts right away no problem..always starts 3-5 pulls depending on temp...worth every penny

Can’t get parts!

I bought this u unit 4 years ago and when I couldn’t get power to my spark plug and tried to get the part I was told I had to get a whole new power head which is the same price as a new unit! Worked good while it ran though but u better hope parts don’t fail

Low end and I knew that but unreliable

It ran very well the first year had no problems opening holes I took all the proper precautions to stored properly drain the fuel out of it always use number 1 fuel in it. Second year I had to put a new carburetor in it. This is would have been my third year and it runs fantastic when it's warm but it absolutely won't start when it's cold our local mechanic is mystified

Q: Just purchased your 43 cc Nitro ice auger and was reading the instructions and noticed that there is no gas cap screw vent. ??? Noticed also that in the picture it has the gas cap screw but the auger does not have this screw. How do you then vent the gas?

A: The new design augers have a self venting gas cap. Just leave it tight all the time.

A: There is a Rapala extension that would work . It is a 12” extension BV-12-EXT. It can either be special ordered by your local Canadian Tire store or ordered through the manufacturer at 1-905-571-3001.

A: This auger requires a gasoline oil mixture at a 50:1 ratio. It is recommended to use premium fuel with no ethanol content.

Q: Does this auger come with the recommended fuel stabilizer oil?

A: The vendor recommends using “VIPER” brand 2-cycle oil (P/N 300400) to ensure that the engine operates correctly throughout the life of the engine. “VIPER” brand 2-cycle oil has fuel stabilizer additive which helps to prevent gasoline from oxidizing and gumming up the carburetor when the unit is not in use for long periods of time. Use unleaded regular gas only. It is best to use premium gasoline that has no ethanol content.
