Uhhhhhh I dunno if I trust

On first install the connection elbows leaked at the filter. Removed the supplier Teflon or whatever as it seemed very brittle. Put on Teflon tape & some pipe dope. Seems sealed. On our older filter the bottom was very hard to remove but this one seems almost too easy??

DO NOT BUT, CATASTROPHIC FAILURE POTENTIAL

DO NOT BUY THIS WATER FILTER!!! Unless you want your kitchen to flood! Installed this late December, no leaks, seemed fine. May 1st a loud noise and water rushing out from under the cabinet alerted me to a catastrophic failure. Big chunks of the blue plastic broke off at the top resulting in water gushing out of the filter. Fortunately I was at the sink and shut the cold water off within seconds or we would have had a major flood. Could have been thousands of dollars of damage to the cabinets, floors and ceiling below. Wanted to buy local and Canadian and couldn't be more disappointed. Just glad this didn't happen while we were out. Buyer beware.

Love the system hate the ceramic cartridge

I really like the Rainfresh filter system. But, the ceramic cartridge is so fragile that I went through installing 3 at (great expense) one after another and each either broke on installing or blew off the black plastic 10 minutes after restoring water pressure. Way too fragile. I actually removed the 2 cartridge system and went down to one carbon filter which seems to be secure. There has to be a better way to secure the ceramic cartridge.

Great quality, easy install

I was worried the parts weren't gonna be compatible with my setup, but made it work with no extra parts. The quality of the plastic is great and the filter looks really good too. Altogether, it took me about 1 hour to install and the water tastes great.

Q: does it come with connecting hoses

  • A: It included everything I needed to hook it up, though depending on your plumbing/where you are hooking it up, you may need other parts or adapters. This is a full kit that comes with: -A valve w/quick-connect for 1/2" water supply line, and compression fitting for 3/8" input line to the filter -A 3/8" compression fitting (to connect your faucet line to the output line from the filter) -6ft of 3/8" tubing for the in/out connections. -There are 3/8" quick-connects already instealled, for the lines in/out of the filter -Mounting bracket to mount the filter assembly on the side/back of your cabinet or to a wall, etc. If you have different sizes of piping/tubing for supply and faucet you may need parts other than supplied with the kit, but most ppl should be good with what's included. Took about 10-15 minutes to hook up--took me longer to clear out and clean the under sink area for installation and put everything back (more neatly) afterwards, lol.

Q: Does this decrease water pressure? I live in a building where water pressure is already problematically low. Would adding a filtration system aggravate that problem?

  • A: Yes it does come with the filter When you open it up it is wrapped inside and it gives all info on filter I bought an extra one just in case it didnt last happy to say it did for 6 months or so

Q: The instructions says to push the compression valve 1 5/8” down the copper pipe. I can’t get it to go down nearly that far? Any help would be great. Don’t want to pound it down, unless that is recommended??
