Excellent indoor planting soil

This is the second time I have bought this Pro-Mix with Mycorrhizae to transplant my fall tomatoes from the garden to indoor tubs. It is very compact when in the package, and it is surprising just how much is in one of these big blocks. Three years ago I used this Pro-Mix in big plastic storage tubs together with some composted manure to keep my tomato plants from the spring growing in my living room, and they continued to grow lushly and produce lots of tomatoes for TWO YEARS. In the picture window with grow lights. Fertilized every couple weeks. It absorbs water very well, isn't heavy, doesn't compact down, and drains very well. It isn't inexpensive, but is probably the best potting soil I have ever used. Which is why I bought it again to transplant my heirloom tomato rootballs from the straw bale garden they grew in this past summer, to continue growing and producing delicious tomatoes inside for the whole winter. Recommended.

A: yes this is excellent. You will need to add a slow release fertilizer as it has no nutrients.

Q: Hi there, Can this be used on it's own as a potting mix? Meaning that I would be filling pots with solely this medium? Will I need to fertilize or does it contain the required nutrients already?

A: I would not recommend it for this by itself. It is essentially a bag of peat moss. It would be fine to mix some with black soil for grass, but not just peat moss alone. Mostly I'd recommend you buy bags of just black soil for planting grass.

A: no...it is a natural product...mycourzae (not spelled right i am sure) is a fungus that will help feed your plants roots making it better for your plants....good product.. i use it as my first choice
