    WORST EPOXY EVER!

This is the worst epoxy I’ve ever used. I used it on about 6 different things and literally nothing bonded. Sometimes the odd thing won’t but literally not one of the 6 things bonded. Not only that it peeled off itself from sitting. Every surface was clean and temperatures were mild. I’ve used a lot of epoxy in my day and this was hands down the worst

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hello Brian, sorry to hear that you didn't have any success with your repairs using Permatex 500° High Heat Epoxy, this product is Ideal for high temperature applications and bonds rigid materials such as including metals, hard plastics, ceramics, glass, rubber, metal and more, though it will not bond polyethylene and polypropylene based materials. It could be that the items you tried to repair may have been composed of fully or partially with materials that are not compatible with this epoxy. Sounds like you know your away around Epoxies, this product is a slow curing epoxy and does require up to 2 hours to fix and 24 hours for a full cure. Please feel free to reach out to us with any further comments or questions, visit: https://www.permatex.com/contact/. Thank you.

Worked well glueing steel trim back on my cool top. Several weeks of cooking and still good. 4 stars as the glues didnt come out of the individual tubes evenly.

    Questions

    1 - 2 of 2 Questions

Q: After curing and a high temperature bake at equal to or slightly below recommended maximum temperature of 500F, would there be any further off gassing from this product? Will this product produce off gassing for its lifetime of use or non at all?

    1 Answer
    • A: Hello and thank you for your question. once the product gets past 500F there is a risk it may soften and possibly off gas as this would happen if you would heat anything up past it’s specified limit. Once the product is not exposed to High heat past it’s limit it will not continue to off gas. Thank you

Q: Is this food safe if used on ceramics?

    1 Answer
    • A: Hello Anon321, what a great question, not one we get often. Permatex High Heat Epoxy is not a food grade product, nor has it been tested for this type of application. When the epoxy cures, it becomes an inert plastic type material, but we cannot recommend it for use on items that come in contact with or are used to prepare food. Please reach out to us with any further comments, concerns or questions. Please visit: https://www.permatex.com/contact/. Thank you.
