Non-stick coating flakes off

I wish I could recommend these, but unfortunately the non-stick coating flakes off after time (and this is despite the fact that we never put these in the dishwasher, just washed them by hand). I noticed silvery flecks all over the bottom of my bread once and since then have had to use parchment paper to cover the whole interior of the loaf pan before baking with them. The flaking has only gotten worse. These pans have lifetime warranty, but I was told that I would need to provide the exact receipt from a couple years ago to pursue any warranty claim—and at any rate, I'm not sure I would want them to simply replace the pan because I don't trust new ones to behave any differently.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: What is the "non-stick" coating?

A: What ever the coating is it is not good. It comes off and sticks to the bread loaf sides. Not cool and not impressed. Stick with Aluminium bread pans and grease with butter. Too bad pans are a nice heavy gauge but coating coming off and sticking to bread is unacceptable.

Q: Is this pan open fire safe? Like if I were to use it to cook food in while camping or on the BBQ.

A: This loaf pan is intended for oven use only. Using over an open flame or on a barbecue risks damaging the non-stick coating as the heat source is too direct and uncontrolled.
