I use these on cots and for a little extra padding on our camper foam mattresses and they help a lot. They are great for car camping but a little heavy/bulky for backpacking. I've only used them for one season but haven't had any issues

easy to set up use, and take down. they are not quite as thick as i had hoped, but not too bad. a bit slippery though - kept sliding off of it
