I bought it 40% off super great deal, took it right to the beach i could hear the signal sounds over the waves no problem and found some rusted screws and other chunks of metal I couldn't identify lol. Haven't used the head phone jack yet but it's gonna get a lot if use while I'm out and about.

Q: I know that the search coil is water proof and can be submerged and the control box can't be submerged but can I still detect in the rain

A: Greg, You can detect in the rain as long as you use a rain cover (accessory) or keep the control box dry.
