Plastic pieces wear out, can’t tighten or fasten properly.

Plastic pieces wear out quickly, doesn’t secure or fasten once plastic pieces wear out. A steel vice would work better than this tool.

Bought this awhile ago and finally got it out too use. Instructions are poor, just has pictures of what your supposed to do that are vague. Plasticky, Was trying to use on 3/8 P chain and it didn't seem to fit the rails where I believe it was supposed to sit. Very awkward to set up and use. Disappointing product from Oregon!

    Does What it Does

Just what was after. Wish it was a bit more sturdy but I gladly give that up for the fair cost.

Tedious set up and poor materials

This is obviously a cheap plastic version of the original cast steel product. The adjustment screws bind in the plastic and can strip the plastic threads. The locking nuts on both adjusting spindles are very hard to grip and lock in place without using pliers. The chrome chain clamp isn't tall enough to properly hold the chain and allow the file to seat properly. The angle gradient marks are almost impossible to see. The guide spindle flexes while filing the chain causing the file to change the cut angle in the chain by a few degrees. I don't recommend you spend your hard earned money on this product.

No, I do not recommend this product.
