Terrible lights, worse customer service

I’ve spent close to $900 on NOMA Smart Voice Command lights from Canadian Tire, and they’ve only worked properly for one season. They constantly unpair, glitch, and require full resets—issues that many other customers are also reporting. Despite the advertised 5–10 year warranty, Canadian Tire refuses to honour it without a receipt and won’t even look up the purchase through my points. I’ve already exchanged the entire setup once, and the same problems came back. The product is unreliable, and the warranty support has been extremely disappointing. I do not recommend these lights or the customer service behind them.

Au moment de la connexion tout va bien, une fois installé sur le toit quand je suis retourné dans l’application les deux sets sont tombés hors ligne, plus moyen de changer les couleurs, ni de les reconnecter au hub malgré qu’on soit à moins à de 12m de distance. Je m’en vais me faire rembourser demain. Je ne conseille à personne.
Very poor lights wrapped so tight in box hard to get straight, can’t find proper clips that hold onto the base and keep lights on roof, bulbs become loose very easy, and the sections did not stay synced had to reset each night

Beware the fine print.

This is an incomplete product. If you’re like me, you buy your Christmas lights, take them home, get up on a ladder, and install them. If you’re smart, you plug them in first just to make sure they light up. I did. What I didn’t do was read the tiny print on the front of the box that says you need to buy another device in order for this product to work. That device costs more than this $60 string of lights. I discovered this after spending hooking them up and spending 45 minutes trying to get them to pair so they could be used. So my option is let them just flash a vomit shade of yellow for the holidays, get up the ladder again, take them down and return them, or double the price and pay $120 for a 23’ string of lights. Ridiculous. Noma and Canadian Tire get a big fat zero out of ten for customer experience. Thanks for nothing.

Do Not Buy These lights.
I have purchased 12 strings of the c9 lights at $60 a string and now 9 of them have lights on the string that either do not light or do not change colour. Noma support has no fix for them as they are not repairable and the warranty is only 1 year.
I only keep the lights up for a little over a little over a month so very little use out of these they range from 1 season to 3 seasons of use.

Q: I know you're not SUPPOSED to leave these lights out all year round, but has anyone actually done that and noticed any issues? Would be so nice to have these up for Halloween, Christmas, and the summer too on a warm white/yellow

A: We bought ours two years ago and left them out year round. Around the 22 month mark, when we went to customize them for Halloween, we found two out of three strands malfunctioning. They show up in the app and we can change the theme/colours, but on those strands only 4 or 5 lights come on.
It was nice to have them out with different colours for holidays, NHL playoff runs, birthdays, etc. But the reliability is horrible.

Would the Noma Quick-Clip C9 clips work with these lights?

A: The Noma C9 quick clips do not work with the smart bulbs. The universal or all-in-one do work but don't grip tightly.

A: Great question. I was wondering myself if there is a library of custom themes. The basic themes that come with the advanced lights are great but having a larger variety would be appreciated. If Noma or anyone knows of more themes it would be appreciated.

A: Yes. I have two separate strands, powered independently, around two separate windows. They are connected to the same hub and both show up in the app.

Q: Are you able to sync a new strand of lights to the previously sync'd strands that are already installed? In the event that you would like to add more strands after you have already run through the initial sync.

A: All of the synchronization happen in the NOMA app. You can add, move, or change the sequence or group with no problem. You must have the new strand synced and appearing in your app and you have to remember which strand is which and you can make them sync up.

A: Yes buy the clear set. The lights (led) are multicoloured and the (plastic bulb) is clear And can be set to any colour or configuration you choose.Eg. All red or red and green alternating. If you buy the multicoloured (plastic bulb) ones they are only the
colour of the (bulb). I hope that helps.
