The NOMA Advanced A19 Emergency Battery Back Up Light provides reliable illumination when the power goes out. This non-dimmable emergency light bulb fits standard A19 E26 lamp sockets and turns on automatically for 5 hours of LED light if electricity is disrupted. The convenient hook allows easy portability, so you can remove the bulb and hang it anywhere illumination is needed during an outage.

Emergency light

A bit expensive but so useful during mums planned 24 hour power outage. Instructions hard to find but are on Canadian Tire website. Bulb not labelled so not easy to tell which ones were emergency lights. They need to be charged so cannot be left in box.

Q: How does one adjust this bulb to stay on? When I simulate a power failure by pulling the plug for the lamp the light goes out! It is charged and works in the hanging hook

A: Mine does the same thing. It operates as a standard bulb when in a lamp socket. When power is removed, the bulb goes out. The only way to turn the bulb on during a power failure is to remove it and use the included hanging socket, which has a switch. Not quite the way I thought it should work!

Q: If this bulb is used in a ceiling light, left on when you leave the home. If the power goes out while you are gone will a person come home to the light on still?

A: Ok so I bought the bulb. Charged it. Put it in the ceiling light where I wanted it. It will not work like a regular bulb in the ceiling light. When I flip the switch to turn the ceiling light off it stays on??? The bulb that was in there previously didn't stay on. So I then tried it in a lamp. It works exactly like it should in a lamp. Why won't it work as a ceiling light???

A: Thank you for your question. The NOMA Advanced A19 Emergency Battery Backup Light typically takes several hours to fully charge once it has been installed and powered on. The charging process happens automatically while the bulb is in regular use, so it reaches full capacity during normal operation without any special steps.

Q: How do these bulbs work? is the internal battery rechargeable once the power comes back or once the 5hrs is used that all there is?

A: This bulb will work as a regular household hold bulb. In case of a power failure, the bulb will remain lit for 5 hours. It will then need to be recharged in the socket and will take 18 hours to fully charge the battery for use again without power. You can recharge this bulb 300 times.
