This might be common knowledge for people who are really great with tech, but I am just ok. I set everything up myself. Not the easiest, but I did it. The extender does not automatically switch between whatever network is strongest. You have to go into settings and manually switch if you feel you are out of range. I have all new netgear equipment (router and extenders). The extenders also had a HUGE drop in download speed (300 on the router to maybe 30 if we were lucky on the extender). Not good. Also, the only way to log into the website/account is to type the IP address into the URL. This isn’t stated anywhere. The only way to know this is to call the help center. Not very helpful or user friendly.

A member of the household purchased a EX6120. After reading and following the instructions, I spent 48 minutes on the phone with my ISP and couldn’t get it connected. Will return this product. Ordered one through the ISP that work on my system. Aggravating.

  • A: I believe it will work with your device. However you should know that I returned this extender. It didn't work very well. I contacted support and they said the issue was related to viruses on my network, which was wrong. They offered to fix it for me for a fee.

  • A: It depends on the range of your current router, not the power source. It must be within a few feet of the router for setup, and then you can take it as far away as you like as long as it is within the range of your router.

Q: Is this suitable to use at an rv campground?  The campground has wifi, but we can’t access it from our site.
