Product Details

Nature's Own Water Softener Crystals effectively eliminate sodium from your water, providing healthier drinking water that’s also better suited for your garden and plants compared to conventional sodium chloride crystals. Made from potassium chloride, these crystals contain potassium, a nutrient that promotes plant growth, making them a more environmentally friendly option. Softened water can also help extend the life of your plumbing by reducing or eliminating scale buildup caused by mineral deposits.

Better than Sodium!

so great to have a healthier option for water softening and to avoid high sodium in our water

We use this because we are on a sceptic system

this from a sceptic study comparing salt and potasium. "Use potassium chloride instead of sodium chloride. Even though potassium chloride is a costlier option, it can help to reduce the amount of sodium that goes into the septic tank. it also helps to ensure that members of your household don’t consume excessive amounts of sodium. Additionally, the amount of potassium needed to cause serious hydraulic conductivity is way more than the amounts of sodium".

Sticker shock!!!! It’s just salt - why SO Pricey??!

This was the only brand on the shelves so I didn’t realize the price until after I got home and had already put the salt in my softener. I had paid using my points and whereas I thought I was paying about $7-8 a bag - which is the Nirmal price - these were almost $50 per bag!!! I nearly died! I will never go to Canadian Tire again without triple checking the price.

Questions

1 - 4 of 4 Questions

Q: Csn you use this product with well water

4 Answers
  • A: You can, but you will use much more of it for well water than for municipal source water. You are advised to purchase a water test kit to determine how much you will use for the well water you use.

Q: Are Potassium Chloride crystals feed rate the same as sodium chloride crystals Would I go through the same amount as I would using sodium chloride crystals?

2 Answers
  • A: Potassium chloride in your softener allows longer cycles between backwashes. Despite the extra cost there are a few excellent benefits: 1. water no longer has a slimy feel to it when washing or showering 2. water is virtually salt free except for the free sodium present in your well water 3. backwash cycles are increased by about 20% 4. less tendency to foul the softener resin

Q: ingredients Does this water softener salt have Potassium Chloride as main ingredient or sodium as I can't have sodium due to health concerns, thanks

2 Answers
  • A: Many people try to have a tap of water that is not softened to avoid the slightly extra salt or taste change. we have that. I hear the extra salt may only be equal to the salt in an extra piece of bread or two, so look into that. We also bypass the softener for outdoor water and outdoor plants. it is worthwhile with a external tap before the water goes into the softener.

Q: Can you mix thjis potassium salt based product with a sodium based product?

1 Answer
  • A: While it is possible to mix sodium-based product and potassium-based product, people tend not to do so. The reason for this is that people typically switch from, as an example, the sodium-based product to the potassium based product because they wish to replace the sodium with potassium. If you are blending the two, the ions from both sodium chloride and potassium chloride are present in your water softener and you have not accomplished what you have set out to do. Consequently, most people clean one product out of their tank before putting in the other product.
