    Brass bolt way more conductive than stainless bolt

    I had issues starting a car up, probably because I replaced the existing battery terminal bolt with a long stainless steel bolt. I used this stainless steel bolt in order to hook up a couple accessory wires such as a stereo amp. I managed to get the car to start up no problem once I replaced the stainless bolt with this MotoMaster bolt. I learned the hard way that brass is much more conductive than stainless steel. The ability to torque this bolt to the battery then torque the nut to the accessory wires is super convenient

    Q: Will this fit my 1997 GMC yukon battery, and give me room for a 6 gage amp wire?

    • A: I doubt it, the post is to short and strips easily when tightening.
