Q: can this item be used between a utility cart and a riding lawn mower? can this item be used as a trailer hitch on a riding lawn mower?
12 years agoA: We would not recommend using this hitch receiver pin for lawn mower applications. This pin is designed to be used with a 2” hitch receiver opening on a vehicle and mounted horizontally. Using this pin on a lawn mower towing configuration will likely have the pin mounted vertically, and the depending on the style of receiver on your lawn mower, the connection will likely be very loose. We would prefer to suggest using a vertical clevis pin/hitch pin. Measure the diameter of the hitch pin hole on your tractor, as well as the required pin length. We carry a pin with a 1” diameter and 4-3/4” pin length, available as Product #040-3043 from the Automotive department at your local Canadian Tire. If you find this pin to be too large, our hardware department carries an assortment of smaller vertical hitch pins with handles. These will be more suitable for your application.
