What can I say it works. Great for re potting and new soil. Please read carefully it is moisture control probably better for certain plants. It is already fertilizer ready as described. It suits us fine but it might not be for your purposes. Please look into it before buying. There are different types of recommended soil available. Please purchase the correct one for your type of plant. This as a product is great for out plants we are buying it for. Know what you are buying. Ask someone if you are not sure.

I bought this to re-pot some house plants, it’s okay for some plants. It’s very light and drains well, maybe too well for plants that like moist soil.

Miracle Grow has the reputation of great success in their products and the moisture control soil delivers what it promises. I love that I don’t have to worry about over watering and the soil stays moist without rotting roots.

I've purchased this potting soil before and it really helps promote plant growth so when I needed more potting soil, there was no doubt I was buying Miracle Gro. It controls the amount of water it releases to the plants so there is no over watering.

Q: Is it safe to use for potted tomatoes and herbs

  • A: Of course! It's moisture control potting mix. The only thing I wouldn't use it on is some types of exotic plants that have very specific soil requirements.

Q: is this a good mix to use with black earth? and what % should you add for each portion of earth? 1/3 mix and 2/3 black earth?

  • A: This particular mix should NOT be used with black earth. Miracle Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix is not a garden soil as it is for indoor or outdoor container projects and is not for in-ground gardening. You would want to use Miracle Gro Nursery Select Annual & Perennial Garden Soil 28.3L or Scotts Essentials Garden Soil 28.3L which would be ideal for inground flower beds and is premixed with Miracle Gro Plant Food for a 3 month feed. You would mix this 50/50 with native soil or black earth.
