Midea Duo AC is the best purchase we did this year. Easy to set up with complete window kit, alexa and midea app smooth connection is amazing, now i can pre-cool the living room before we get to go home using either alexa or midea app. I highly recommend this product.

Failed just after 1 year, no warranty support

Despite minimal use as we have central AC, the unit failed just after the 1 year mark. No warranty support. They gave us the number of a local repair company (to be repaired on my dime), but the company said they do not repair portable AC units as it is usually cheaper to buy a new one. Piece of junk. Would not recommend this unit, or anything from Midea.

Q: Currently unit is not working and showing "EH / 06" error on LCD screen. Tried unplugging and starting again - still nothing. Only had unit 2months. Have read through both the online manual and physical manual and nothing regarding this type of an error.

The dual hose system is designed to keep the intake and exhaust airflow separate. When installed properly, there is no risk of the hot exhaust air being pulled back into the intake. A: Hello Tammi. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Midea 12,000 BTU Smart Portable Air Conditioner. This unit operates by drawing in and expelling hot air through a hose. This hose must be installed in a window to allow hot air expulsion and to ensure the air conditioner performs at maximum capacity. Enjoy your day!

Q: does it have a continuously variable thermostat (same noise level through the night) or does it switch on-off mode with pulsed noise?

A: The fan and compressor speed are variable (inverter drive). However, the unit will still turn on/off if the minimum speed provides more cooling than is required. To make the noise more constant, you can optionally enable "continuous fan" mode so it will leave the fan running when the compressor turns off, and it's also possible to select a fixed fan speed.

Q: I am having issues with the thermostat, is anyone else? The thermostat on the unit cools off much faster than the room temp so the unit stops cooling. This is my first portable AC unit, is this typical?

A: The thermostat built in to the unit can only measure the temperature near the unit, so this sometimes happens. To solve this, you can enable the "comfort sense" feature on the remote - then the temperature will be measured by the remote and transmitted to the air conditioner. See the user manual for instructions.
