Garbage

I bought this about 2 years ago and used it once last summer and the motor started to spark and tripped breaker. I called for warranty and they sent me to the nearest warranty shop wich was inconveniently 1.5 hours away to leave there for 4 months to only get it back and have to pay $65 for labor and to go to use again last week and plane 2 boards to have the motor spark out and stop working again. This thing is junk dont waste your money and costumer service and warranty is a joke. I want my money back canadian tire!!!!!!

Purchased this planer roughly a year and a bit ago. It sat in its box unopened for roughly a year before opening it early this summer. Used it few days ago, ran good for about 20 minutes then smoke followed by sparks and grinding noise started coming out from electric motor. Contacted Canadian Tire customer services for assistance and was denied any assistance as I no longer had proof of or actual purchase receipt.

Q: Why does the description say, this planer has a side mounted wheel for height adjustment yet the one and only picture shows a top crank handle.

A: The top crank handle is for height adjustment, however there is a depth stop wheel with different thicknesses located on the bottom right of the planer (handle side) to assist you in getting the thickness identical across many work pieces.
