The few boards that I planed came out very smooth with little effort. It was easy to set up and the extraction chute seems to work pretty well. Very happy so far.

Problems with feeding boards

When it feeds it works well. After about five boards they starts to stick and the feed rollers won’t pull the board through. Been using hand soap to help the boards slide easier, going to try ski wax next. It’s frustrating to have to do this but hoping it will help. Definitely slows down production.

Not Happy At All

Purchased new, unit came clearly used, damage to tray, scratches, and broken rear assembly for shroud. Box was covered in heavy dust completely destroyed my vehicle and clothing, figured this was due to sitting on a shelf so long, clearly not. Unit is very poor quality compared to near priced brands. Much too heavy and cumbersome to repack and return and redestroy my vehicle. Maximum will not be my goto brand after this disaster.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Why does the description say, this planer has a side mounted wheel for height adjustment yet the one and only picture shows a top crank handle.

A: The top crank handle is for height adjustment, however there is a depth stop wheel with different thicknesses located on the bottom right of the planer (handle side) to assist you in getting the thickness identical across many work pieces.
