Lifetime warranty is gimmick

It claims to have a lifetime warranty, and it’s a Canadian Tire-owned brand. However, it appears that they don’t offer this warranty at their stores. My cable stopped working, so I visited the store to get a replacement or a refund. Unfortunately, they informed me that I should contact Maximum Company for the resolution. I won’t be purchasing Maximum products again.

Cord end melted and it's charred on the inside. Can't recommend. I feel like this is a fire hazard and I'm glad my place didn't catch fire.
