Great tool for my drywall job. The reason I give it 4 stars is because the bit seems to wear out pretty quick. They could put a better bit in it since it is supposed to be the “Maximum” which is their premium product

Q: Is the depth of this bit adjustable? Mine sets the screws too deep.

A: Hi Peter, There are 2 probable cause why your bit is setting the screw too deep into the drywall board. 1. The 1” drywall bit should be fully inserted into the Dimpler centre hole and should have a slight click to fully lock the bit in place. 2. If the Dimpler is in the reverse mode, the insert bit tip of the screwdriver bit will extend 7mm out from the front of the Dimpler, this is only used when you require to back out a drywall screw in reverse mode and not for driving screws. To release the reverse mode, hold the front of the Dimpler (grey portion) and push in and turn the hex shank counter-clock wise. This will release the reverse mode and now the tip of the screwdriver bit should only extend 2mm out from the front of the Dimpler. Q: Is the drive bit changable?

A: Yes, the MAXIMUM Drywall Dimpler® bit can be easily changed, by simply placing the Dimpler® in the reverse mode so that the insert bit protrudes beyond the tip of the Dimpler®. Using pliers, just clamp the front of the insert bit and pull outward. Replace the insert bit, by pushing the bit into the front and pushing the insert bit against a firm surface until you feel the insert bit click back into position. Un-release the Dimpler® from the reverse mode and you are ready to continue your task. The bit can be replaced with the MAXIMUM 1” Phillips#2 Insert Bit #054-4054 or the Mastercraft 1” Phillips#2 Insert Bit #054-3811. In addition, the Dimpler® also can be used for decking applications, for the perfect seated screw by changing the insert bit to a square recess#2 bit.
