I just got the grinder out of the box. The wheels were stiff to turn. I plugged it in. When I turned it on it makes a very loud growling noise. I don't think this is normal. I have 3 other grinders which run quite. I'll try to exchange this tomorrow.
No, I do not recommend this product.

- A: A 6” wire wheel brush with a 1/2” centre hole could be used if you use a spacer or washers to move the wheel out far enough for the nut and washer to contact the wheel. I use this grinder at its lowest speed of 2000 rpm to sharpen my wood lathe tools. This requires very little power and a short run time. The 2-1/2 amp motor could handle a wire wheel for light duty cleaning and polishing.2 years agoHelpful?

- A: The functions are the same except that the base, wheel guard and motor housing are different in appearance. 0556797 has an LED lamp with an independent switch, and the 0553503 has an industrial lamp.3 years agoHelpful?
