Bought it to help with the renovations of a deck, the included blade is pretty useless, after changing it out for a better blade it works much better, at the price point, you'd think they could include a better blade. Otherwise it does the job, feels heavy enough to make be believe it's got some quality inside.

This tool has one year repair warranty that cannot be used because there is no repair location in Ottawa area. Ensure that you would be able to get it fixed, if defective within the first year of use.

Q: Is the shoe guard easily replaced without disassembly of the unit.

A: There is no need to disassemble the tool to replace the shoe guard. It is mainly taking out the cover and circlip and pull out the shoe and replace with a new one. So the actions are in the area of the front (shoe). We recommend your repair centre do the shoe replacement if possible. As Maximum brand has repair service in the warranty.
