The powerful Mastercraft Metal Chop Saw makes quick work of cutting through metal with its robust 15A motor. The heavy-duty steel base on this chop saw provides stability for accurate cuts, while the quick-release vice clamp and adjustable 0-45° pivoting fence allow you to securely hold workpieces in place for precise, angled cuts.
Features a 15A motor with 3,300 RPM (no-load) for cutting through a variety of materials including ferrous metals
Quick-release vice clamp assembly and pivoting fence (0-45° right and left) for fast and accurate cuts

I bought it back in April, and the saw seemed to do the trick, but then today, it just stopped working. i went and got an exchange and that went well but as soon as i unpackage it and made my second cut it stopped mid cut. im not impressed at all with this saw

Does what its supposed to do

Use it as needed in my garage at home. Used to use a hacksaw to cut metals but this makes little projects a breeze now. Safety glasses and ear plugs and gloves should be used.

A: If you are on a 15 amp circuit, not good enough, you need to upgrade to a 20 amp circuit, this mean run a new cable, 12AWG wire size to a rated 20 amp plug and change out breaker to 20 amp or 20 amp fuse if running an old fuse panel

Q: Is this really only capable of cutting 4 inch round at 90° ? I would think it would cut 4.5 inches round stock at 90 (I'm looking to cut a lot of 4 inch ABS pipe, so 4.5" outside diameter). Anyone use it for cutting 4 inch schedule 40 pipe?

A: The maximum round cut is 4 inches. You can try to cut 4.5" round ABS pipe, but you cannot cut 4.5" round metal because the blade will wear out too quickly, which can result in a partial cut.

Q: Re: Mastercraft 14" Chopsaw, # 055-4500-6: Where can one obtain a replacement Torsion Spring (item # 12 on parts list)? I was referred to a local repair shop (Wright Vacuum) by Canadian Tire, and he told me that this part is on back-order from China.
