Poor Quality-does not hold up.

Extremely disappointed in these. I bought these because I have previously bought a smaller sized set many years ago that are still going strong. With this set I was struggling to get a second hole drilled because the bit went completely dull after the first hole was drilled, the metal was very soft and it still wasn’t able to get two holes done. These may work better on plastic but are absolute garbage for use on metal. I would not recommend buying and will not be buying any more of these.

Q: Can these bits drill through an 18 gauge stainless steel sink? I want to install a hole for a soap dispenser.

A: Yes, they can. But you have to keep the bit straight and apply pressure. When I was doing mine, I was not keeping the bit upright and it was not drilling. But suddenly as I moved my hand a bit, it drilled very easily.

Q: would these tools work on 1/4" mild steel bar? how many 5/8" dia. holes could one cut with one of them?

A: This sku cannot work on 1/4" mild steel bar. The step drill is used to enlarge a hole and the thickness of the plate to be cut should not exceed the height of the step.

Q: R.P.M. Chart? Do you know if there is a R.P.M. recommendation chart for drilling various materials? ie: Your Bi - Metal Hole saws have such a Chart included. Thanxs!

A: There's no R.P.M chart for the step drill. Hole saw have different diameter per piece, see attached chart. Step Drill are not, there are 12 step and 11step in this pack, see attached image.
