Fair quality

I've own this set for 12 years, the quality is fair which means they perform well if used on Aluminum and occasionally( if used careully/slowly) to tap mild steel but the whole set is the same price as one single good quality tap .
Overall, if you are a hobby machinist or need to get the job done well, buy a better set.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Great warranty

Not a tool you'll need everyday unless you're a machinist, but when you need it it's golden. These taps have a tendency to crack if you push them too hard (they are all like it) so having Mastercraft's no hassle warranty behind you is a excellent choice no matter what level you use this set on. Would buy it again in a heart beat, but I'll never have too ;)

Had this (or similar) for 25 + years used in a professional repair environment & the set did very well. CTC would warranty broken goods with no questions (I would get some apprehension to replace from more expensive door to door tool companies). My only peeve is the mold that the kit is housed in. Not very strong and WILL dissolve if oil or cleaner is introduced. Over all a good kit especially if on sale & used as a hobby tool set but if still manufactured as it was when I purchased many moons ago, strong enough to use on a day to day basis.

Q: How does Maximum lifetime warranty compare with Mastercraft lifetime warranty ? There has been 46 pc. Maximum tap and die set on sale for same price as 72 pc Mastercraft set. Not sure of best way to go regarding quality.

Q: Please list the included sizes C.T. could include List of sizes in the "Features", or just readable picture of the packaging. The packaging usually has it printed.

A: The metric sizes are 3mm to 12mm. Most are coarse thread only, but some fine thread are included. SAE sizes are #4 to #12 and 1/4" to 1/2" in both coarse and fine thread. There are no bottoming taps, just the through hole type. There is also a 1/8"-27 Pipe Thread tap and die.
