Good saw

Good saw for simple cuts and boards up less then 12 inches wide. Did what I bought it for.

Great price!

Bought this on sale for a great price! Great for occasional use. There is no laser light which would have been a nice addition but for a budget friendly saw you really can't expect it.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We're glad you found the saw to be a great value and a good fit for occasional projects. We appreciate your comment about the laser guide—it's helpful feedback and something we'll share with our product team as we continue to improve the lineup. We hope your mitre saw serves you well for many projects to come!

Amazing quality

The saw works as intended. The tilt feature is also quite useful at times. As a beginner, I'm just getting into woodworking and as a first-timer on this saw, its very user friendly.

Got the job done

Bought to cut trim and baseboards. Works ok. Didn't come with the Allen key that it was supposed to and we had to fix the mitre lock ourselves before it would lock in place. Should have brought it back and got our money back but needed it that day. I would recommend anyone buying this to check that all parts are in the box prior to purchase and it locks safely.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear the saw ultimately got the job done, but we’re sorry about the missing Allen key and the issue with the mitre lock.

For reference, the hex (Allen) key is typically affixed to the top of the saw base on the back left side—though we understand how frustrating it can be if it wasn’t easy to locate or appeared to be missing.

Your feedback about checking all parts and ensuring the saw locks properly is very helpful and appreciated.

If you’re still experiencing any concerns with the mitre lock or missing components, you may want to reach out to your local store—our team can often help with replacement parts or support.

Q: Can the blade cut metal?

1 Answer
  • A: Thanks for your question. The Mastercraft 10" Single-Bevel Compound Mitre Saw is designed for cutting wood and wood-based materials when used with the appropriate blade. It is not intended to cut metal with the standard blade supplied with the saw. For further safety information, please refer to page 7 of the product manual.

Q: Can you cut a 5-1/4" inch tall baseboard with this saw?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Joey, The short answer is: No, you cannot cut 5-1/4" baseboard standing upright (vertically) against the fence with this specific 10-inch saw. Most standard 10-inch non-sliding miter saws have a vertical capacity of about 3-1/2" to 4-1/2". To cut 5-1/4" trim vertically, you usually need a 12-inch saw or a specialized "tall fence" sliding model. How to make it work Don't worry, you can still get the job done with this saw! You just have to change your technique: (1) Cut it "On the Flat": Instead of standing the board up, lay it flat on the saw table. or (2) Adjust Your Saw: To make a 45° corner, you will keep the miter at 0° and tilt the bevel of the saw to 45°.

Q: Does this saw need to be mounted on a workbench (e.g., B&D Workmate)?

1 Answer
  • A: The saw, when in use, should be secured to improve safety. Generally, most people use a miter saw stand, e.g., 57-1464. However, it is not necessary to mount the saw if you are comfortable working at ground level.
