The mallets are all they need to be. Solid varnished handles are a nice touch. The purchase was made to aquire the white mallet but the opportunity to get a new black one was irresistible. Would definitely recommend the set if it goes on sale again or just either of the two sold individually when on sale 5/5. The only reason for 3 stars is the epic saga of actually getting them 1/5. Trust Canadian Tire to disappoint you reliability, frequently, and creatively. Were it not for the store manager i'd be nowhere 5/5.
