The Mastercraft Intelligent Dust Collection Power Switch is designed to bring efficiency and automation to the cleanup process. This automatic vacuum switch allows your vacuum or dust collection system to automatically start when a power tool is turned on. You’ll enjoy a cleaner workspace free of dust and debris thanks to this shop vacuum switch, which allows you to have a healthier, safer work environment. This vacuum switch has a turn on/turn off delay feature, helping to prevent circuit breaker overload, and also providing the ability to continue operating a vacuum once a tool has been turned off. A 5’ (1.5m) power tool input cord and a 2’ (0.6m) vacuum input cord lend versatility to this power transfer switch. A covered on/off switch keeps the device clean, while durable housing and a rubber case offer resilience and longevity. When the setup features less than 15A of power, a vacuum input cord may be plugged into the auxiliary power receptacle on this power switch, allowing for additional surge protection.

4 years agoA: Confirmed, will NOT WORK with a 2 HP dust collector (110V, 15A), MaxG was right, startup trips 15A breaker on device. Will be returning it.

Q: 1- do you need to plug in both cords or, if the power consumption is low, can you plug in just the power tool input cord? 2- is there a small current allowed on the tool outlet that will not trigger the vacuum to come on? Think small radio, 0.1 - 0.2A...
7 years agoA: 1/ Customer needs to plug in both cords in order for both Power Tool and Shop Vacuum to get power. Plug the POWER TOOL INPUT cord (black) into an electrical outlet of maximum 15A. If the total power requirement of the Power Tool and Shop Vacuum is less than 15A, plug the SHOP VACUUM INPUT cord (grey) into the AUXILIARY POWER receptacle (grey) on the unit. If the total power requirement of the Power Tool and Shop Vacuum is 15 to 30A, plug the SHOP VACUUM INPUT cord (grey) into another electrical outlet of maximum 15A with its own circuit breaker. 2/ This unit is designed for a special application. We do not recommend to connect devices other than as specified on the unit.
