Poor quality control,.but the product so far so good.

Bought this drill press on sale to replace an older Mastercraft drill press, following the assembly instructions, I attempted to install the column tube to the base using three M8 to x 18 bolts, lock washers and nuts, the problem was the bolts were too big for the holes in the base, and the holes in the base were threaded , my question is , why would I need nuts , if the holes were threaded?, and there wasn't any nuts included anyway, I got around this by drilling out the threaded holes in the base and using my own nuts and bolts.

Yes, I recommend this product.

We had been using the portable drill press (about $60) and it was a bit wobbly, difficult to get a perfect hole and a problem having to remove the drill to use it for other things. I wish we had purchased this one first. What a huge difference! Sturdy and stable and works perfectly. Doesn’t take up floor space like the large one we had used before.

  • A: There is no table, it just sits on your tabletop/workbench. The base is metal as is everything else on this machine. This drill press works as advertised and does the job. For the cost, this is an excellent drill press.

  • A: Yes you can.  I’ve had mine for about a year now and no issues whatsoever. I’ve drilled in wood and steel as well as stainless steel.  The belt adjustment is easy and the work light is great.  Highly recommended this.
