This tool only worked for two flares. After that the grip on the clamp was worn out and did not work. This is the second one I’ve had and they’re both going back. Do not buy.

Works on hard steel lines

Made perfect double flares on my 5/16 steel transmission lines. Other flare tools are only rated for soft metals like copper or aluminum, so go with this kit if you're working with steel lines. Also the 1/2" shaft and nuts are nice to use a wrench or socket over the traditional turn bar/wing nut style as it's easier on your hands if you have to do a bunch of flares.
