Won't last very long

At first the only issues were that the zero would randomly reset, so I would have to be careful to make sure they were correct. Then after a year, the display started flickering and now only half of it works. They display is also just displaying random things constantly even without it being touched. This started happening while it was in its case, it wasn't even from dropping it or anything. The other issue is that because of the design you can't use them manually, even though the side has the measurements, because where you would check the measurments is blocked by the plastic of the display. Not recommended

No, I do not recommend this product.

No extra battery included, need to improve quality of holding area ( material) is very cheap. Rest vernier calliper is made up of steel except that.

Q: Readout is half of actual measurement This caliper worked fine at first. Now it only displays half of what it measures. E.g., I would measure a 20mm cylinder but the LCD says 10mm. And the number one on the far left, the 100th mm position, is always on. Is there a way to fix this?

3 Answers
  • A: The calipers readout is a universal design with more features than easily accessible in a caliper. This setting is used in DRO lathes and CNC equipment to convert diameter reading to radius. A low battery, or playing with the output port pins, can enable this setting. Reset and restore normal operation by removing the battery.

Q: I'm looking for an explanation of the tables of numbers on the back. Top table is labeled " Metr. ISO" Bottom table is labeled "Whit worth"

2 Answers
  • A: The tables provide a "quick reference" for selecting the proper drill bit size to support making a hole that can be tapped to fit a specific screw size. Metric is as the name implies, metric measurements for metric standard screws; Whitworth is British Imperial (inches) measurements for the British Standard Whitworth screws.

Q: Do the calipers come with a certificate of calibration that is valid, or do they require calibration?

2 Answers
  • A: There is no way to calibrate this unit. You have to check the unit against a quality known calibration reference to check its accuracy. You also have to check that the inside and outside measurements are (essentially) the same.
