Great upgrade

This is a major upgrade to the older model pump ctc use to carry. Pump is heavy duty with a float activator which should be way better than the older cheaper made system. New battery box and charging system looks great

Great backup sump pump. I paired it with a Miteymax 100amp hour deep cycle gel battery. The only thing I didn’t like was the float. I found it was too difficult to set the upper and lower limits of the switch and found my sump basin had to almost fill up completely to trip the floating switch. I ended up purchasing a vertical switch and swapping out the plug as it is specifically designed to plug into the control system on the battery box. Working awesome now and way easier to set limits with vertical float. I would highly recommend this product however, I wish they would offer either switch as an option. Would be 5 stars if not for the switch.

Good backup pump with one design issue.

So far am happy with it but it has one issue. If the alarm trips due to a main power loss, the pump works ok but once either main power or generator power is restored, the alarm does not auto reset. You have to manually push the reset button to stop tge alarm. This is a problem if you are away or even when asleep. I had to install a battery backup UPS to plug it into, to keep the alarm from tripping every time there is a power failure. This is a poor design flaw tha needs to be corrected. Other types of battery backup sump pumps do auto reset, but not this one. It also uses a floating ball switch which is harder to set the water level trip point. A double action bracket mounted float type switch would be better, but that could be just my preference.

Not robust and repairable enough to trust with your basement.

The first unit I purchased had the be replaced, because the pump failed with a short circuit. Because these are not sold as separate parts, I had to take everything apart for the store to process a warranty return, and presumably this also means that the battery box will have been thrown out. Something like this needs to be very robust and also have replacement parts available.

Q: What's maximum head before zero flow of this pump? That would be more useful to mention then the dimensions of the box it comes in.

A: This Canadian Tire pump appears to be a re-branded Superior pump (made in Minneapolis). The model number, general specifications and image all look the same. The pump performance is as follows (values in US gallons per minute): 0' - 23, 5' - 22, 10' - 18, 15' - 13, 20' - 8 Based on that I would estimate the maximum head (zero flow) would be approx. 28'
